Meet The Team

Harrison G. Saunders

Chief Executive Officer

Harrison Saunders has served as CEO of Harrison Senior Living since 2015.  He is currently focused on offering assisted living and independent living in the Western Chester County, PA and Delmarva Peninsula markets.  Under his leadership, HSL’s primary goal is to become the best care and senior living provider in these markets for the absolute best price.  He is also working to explore new products and services to meed the needs of America’s seniors, particularly those of the underserved and underresourced “middle market.”  Core to newer offerings from HSL will be ensuring that the seniors it houses will be able to enjoy a purposeful life that is focused on building community and even stimulating local economies.

Harrison firmly believes that seniors have an amazing wealth of potential that has historically been untapped.  Accessing that potential can extend and enhance the lives of seniors, reduce their costs of living, and can benefit their surrounding community in many ways.  Harrison’s work history at HSL includes building companies, dispositioning assets, commercial and residential real estate management, real estate acquisitions, multigenerational family business ownership transitions, managing a continuum of care from post-acute skilled nursing and rehabilitation through assisted living and seniors housing.  At its largest size, HSL was a $50M company with over 600 employees, 500 residents/patients, 5 “senior living” sites in 3 states, several commercial, residential and agricultural real estate holdings in the hundreds of acres.

Prior to this work focus, Harrison worked as, and remains, a licensed landscape architect with focuses on urban planning, healthcare master/campus planning and gardens.  Community service is an important part of Harrison’s life as this way has always been his family’s culture.  He has served on several community Boards with extensive volunteering efforts and is currently the President of the Greater Snow Hill Chamber of Commerce.  He lives in Center City Philadelphia with his wife, Rachel and two children, Emmeline and Charles where they enjoy a busy life of urban activities.  Much of their time is spent in New England with Rachel’s family and friends from the coastal communities of Cape Cod to skiing in Vermont.  They also spend a great deal of time in Southeastern Virginia with Harrison’s family and friends between the beaches and rivers of Tidewater.
