What is the primary benefit of a retirement community compared to an apartment complex?

A retirement community, like Harrison House of Chester County, offers services and amenities that are not found in an apartment complex. Conveniences such as dining, laundry, transportation and social activities are available on a daily basis. Our goal is to offer a lovely place to live with services to keep you comfortable, safe and independent. We also have the added benefit of offering Personal Care services on-site should you need more assistance.

What levels of care are provided?

In addition to Independent Living apartments, Harrison House also offers Personal Care and rehabilitation services—all in the same building. The rehabilitation services include outpatient Physical, Occupational and Speech therapy.

I’m pretty healthy now and do not need care. When is the best time to move to a retirement community?

The best time to move to a retirement community is when you are active and healthy! Some of our residents maintain a very busy lifestyle, working or volunteering. They love returning at the end of the day to a home-cooked meal or coordinated activity. Their free time is spent socializing, not catching up with housekeeping, yard work or basic household maintenance.

Am I required to pay an expensive entrance fee or buy-in fee?

We are committed to keeping our community affordable. For this reason, there is NO ENTRANCE FEE at Harrison House of Chester County. This means that you can move in when you are ready without draining your savings account or waiting for a house to sell.

Does Harrison House of Chester County accept subsidies?

Harrison Senior Living is a private, family-owned and operated company. We do not participate in any governmental programs. Medicare and Medicaid do not cover independent living or Personal Care services.
